I mentioned phpEclipse, I dislike Eclipse and while it's been a while, I was not impressed with phpEclipse when I tried it last. I will however try to review it also :)

I would recommend taking a look at the phpEclipse project and see how it stacks up with the others. There is an active community willing to work on your bugs/feedback. They also have support for xdebug and dbg, and of course you can use mylyn and any other eclipse plugins.

Good start!

Looking at the same problem myself for over the past year now...
We even share the same requirements :) Still, its hard... I havent found a fitting replacement for my aging ZDE 5.5 setup yet ... Tried Netbeans, but it just doesnt quite cut it... (or i cant seem to find my missing features ;) )

PDT / ZDE 6 is by far too slow, heavy and overrrated (IMHO)

in any case looking forward to your indepth review of the different IDE's

I've switched about 3 months ago to NetBeans from Zend Studio after trying both Komodo and Eclipse. I can say that i'm very happy with NetBeans and from the 4 IDE's its the only one i would certainly recommend to anyone.
